Bob also donated pictures to us of his grandfather Jesse Grove. Jesse Grove was Licking County Auditor from 1923-31, and Mayor of Newark from 1936-40. He was a mailman before he was elected Auditor, and he farmed along Flint Ridge Road after his term as Mayor. If you have any old pictures of people in Licking County Government which you would allow us to copy or to have, we would be happy to talk to you. You can contact us at tel. 740-670-5121, or by sending us a message at http://www.lcounty.com/frmFeedback.aspx .
We have more volunteer opportunities at the present time. If you are interested in helping us out, one potential project is transcribing interviews of persons who lived or worked in the Licking County Children's Home. Other possible projects are cataloging materials, preparing items for scanning, and indexing names from older Licking County records. Please contact Bill Markley at tel. 740-670-5121 if you would like to be a volunteer with us.
